Holiday Entertaining

A Feast for Fifty

December 24, 2011

We asked the Taste team for their best holiday party ideas, allowing them five items from the shop on us.

"Every year, for the past five years, my best friend and I have thrown an epic holiday party for, like, 50 of our friends. It's the event of the season! Over the years, we've got our menu planning down to a science, with an outline of what each of us will contribute individually:

I'm queen of gougeres, making hundreds of them at a time. I also dabble in charcuterie, and classic pork rillettes are my fave. For this, the Becker Lane shoulder will do nicely. We always bake our own favorite, passed-down-in-the-family Christmas cookies, and I need to stock up on spices. Everyone gets a little bag of whatever truffles (whisky and tobacco! earl grey!) I feel like making to take home after the party, so I buy many, many pounds of the best chocolate I can find. To toast to the hosts, you can't go wrong with rosé Champagne!" - Heather Eddy
