In 2005, Callie White and Carrie Morey launched Callie’s Charleston Biscuits after Callie's savory country ham biscuits made her a local legend. They now bake seven styles of biscuits and make Southern staples like pimento cheese and shortcakes.

Mixing It Up

Callie’s Biscuits co-founder, Carey Morey, and Fat & Juicy Bloody Mary Mix's Joe Good, go way back. “Joe is a childhood friend of mine,” says Carey. “We grew up together in Charleston, playing on the Hazel Parker playground.” When Joe and his bandmate John Glenn concocted their Bloody Mary mix in the back of their van “on a Sunday afternoon after a hard weekend playing.” The buddies turned the impromptu blend–spiked with garlic, horseradish and celery–into a specialty food business, packaging it in eight-ounce bottles that they affectionally call grenades. One of Fat & Juicy’s first customers was Good’s old pal Carrie, who loves its versatility. “It’s not just for Bloody Marys,” she says. “You can use it in shrimp Creole, mix it with sour cream for a dip, even make sloppy Joes with it.”

Use and Care

Biscuits arrive fully cooked and frozen
Thaw overnight in the refrigerator
Re-heat biscuits by unstacking and wrapping in foil. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 25-30 minutes
Open foil for last 3-5 minutes of baking or until golden brown
