Zürsun Beans Twin Falls, Idaho

In the 1980s, Lola Weyman discovered several farmers growing unknown varieties of lentils in Sun Valley, Idaho. She began distributing the beans and helped develop new heirloom lentil varieties. Zürsun was the first American company to offer authentic heirloom bean. Today it is owned by Jim Soran, a second-generation bean distributor.

Better Beans

Zürsun’s beans are inspected for consistency, purity, and health throughout the growing season. The arid climate and rich soil of the Snake River Canyon (a region of South Central Idaho known as the Magic Valley Growing Area) is ideal for bean growing. Once the beans are harvested, they’re carefully color-sorted and sized, so each bag contains a consistent quality, freshness, and cleanliness. These beans aren’t just good for you, they’re good for the planet. Bean plants aerate and help fertilize the soil, enriching the ground for the next crop. They’re also eco-friendly because they require less water and fertilizer than many grain crops.
