Since Maribel Lieberman was born in Honduras, her ties to Latin flavors run deep. All her Aztec drinkable chocolates are made with 65% South-American single-origin cacao. The exotic flavors include: not just the classic Aztec Hot Chocolate, but also a coffee-infused mocha, a spicy chocolate and even an iced version that reminds us of the best chocolate milk from childhood. Whisk the chocolate powder into boiling water or warm milk for a full-flavored cup of European-style hot cocoa. For a little added flair, Maribel recommends refrigerating the leftovers and incorporating them into a pie filling.

Inspired by her mother's handed-down knowledge of pressing cocoa elixir into chocolate, Honduras-born Maribel Lieberman set out to create MarieBelle Chocolates over a decade ago.

Why We Love It

When Maribel Lieberman opened her business in 2000, her husband, Jacques, designed the colorful, abstract cocoa-butter silkscreens that adorn her chocolates.
