Byrd Cookie Company has been a Savannah tradition since 1924. It began when Ben T. Byrd, Sr. started making cookies by hand, packing them in wooden boxes and delivering them to Savannah stores. Today the company is known for its tiny crunchy cookies and Southern specialties like cheddar biscuits.

Eighty-eight years have passed since Benjamin Tillman “B.T.” Byrd first delivered hand-packed wooden boxes of cookies around Savannah on the back of his Model T, but the core of his bakery business, family, is strong as ever.
