We're thrilled when we can introduce a small producer of exceptional product to wine enthusiasts. We discovered Chercher while visiting Napa for a conference, when we struck up a conversation with the owner, John Schilter in between presentations. John told us that he was making extremely tiny amounts of handcrafted wines, and that he was completely sold-out of all vintages. With only a few bottles to sample at the Gilt Taste blind tasting, our panelists fell in love with this producer. We convinced John to pull a small allotment of this complex, beautiful wine for you on Gilt Taste!

Nose: Tart cherry and blackberry, herbs, violets and tobacco
Palate: Lush red and black fruit, leather, cinnamon, nutmeg and tobacco

John Schilter’s career started on the family farm, where he made hard cider from apples and grapes. John left the farm to pursue a degree in Viticulture and then a winemaking career at the prestigious Château Lafite Rothschild. Chercher Trouver (“to seek and to find”) was founded with the goal of seeking and finding the best fruit.
When necessary, your wine will be shipped to your nearest carrier hub in a temperature-controlled, refrigerated truck. You will receive tracking information once your wine leaves the carrier hub.
