After falling in love with the potential of the Napa region, Derenoncourt decided to produce a wine of his own in California. Naturally, the 2006 vintage of his first California wine was heavily anticipated. Due to extraordinarily small production, consumer allocations sold out within weeks of debut. Gilt Taste has been able to secure a small assortment of the few remaining bottles of this inaugural vintage, set aside by the winery for a special opportunity - the launch of Gilt Taste wines!

Stéphane Derenoncourt rose to fame as a self-taught winemaker, earning respect for his skill in the vineyards of Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux. In 1997, he began a winemaking consultancy and grew his list of clients to other international high-quality producers. In 2006, after falling in love with California, he released his first vintage.
