Why We Love It

A counterpoint to  Valerie Confections’ very feminine petit fours, these dapper truffles echo the tastes experienced when drinking a fine scotch or dark stout. Though they seem to be subtly infused, Valerie actually adds a decent amount of alcohol, even reducing the Rogue Chocolate Stout to get the truest extract. A seemingly standard chocolate gift box on first sight, there is much more to these truffles than their smooth exteriors belie. Upon opening the stately black box, the smokiness of the Scotch and cherry notes of the chocolate stout hit your nose. We like to linger over this moment, as one would do before taking a sip of fine Scotch.
