In the Aztec empire, cocoa beans were used as currency. But only royalty and the elite were permitted to drink their cash. True to Aztec tradition, MarieBelle's drinking chocolates are made using whole cocoa beans and a heady blend of spices: ancho chile and chipotle in the spicy variety, and cardamom for those who prefer more European flavors. Simply mix equal parts hot water and chocolate and blend with ice for a rich, velvety treat.
