The Architecture of Tea

Influenced by teahouse architecture, Five Mountains modeled this glass teapot after stupas found in Indian temples. The ancient spherical structure held Buddhist relics and its rounded shape conjures a sense of nirvana for Jeff McCloud, a Five Mountain co-founder. Two layers of hand-blown glass form the teapot’s dome shape, which improves the steeping process. With water too hot, tea won’t steep correctly, but this double-walled container keeps the tea’s temperature stable inside. Even for cool drinks, like iced teas or cold sake, this glass teapot maintains a steady temperature for easy sipping.
