But it applies the same stringent standards to herbs that it does to its traditional teas. It sources this mix of water mint and spearmint from a secret location in the Cascade Mountains, where the tea is vacuum-sealed on site to retain its freshness and fragrance.

Why We Love It

The exact source of Five Mountains' peppermint is a closely guarded secret but it's the moist, rich soil and heavy fog of the Cascade Mountains give this tisane its cooling properties. To brew the perfect cup, be aware of the three "Ts:" (water) temperature, (steeping) time and total (amount).Steep one to two teaspoons in eight ounces of boiling water for four to five minutes. The tea is certified organic in the United States as well as the far-stricter European Union and Japan.
