Jean Arnold, the San Francisco–based, Le Cordon Bleu–trained artisan behind 479 Popcorn, began making her own organic popcorn and flavoring it with exotic seasonings inspired by her international upbringing. In the process, she discovered that 479˚Fahrenheit is the optimal temperature for popping corn.

San Francisco-based 479 Popcorn sources its organic heirloom popcorn kernels from a small, family-owned farm that plants non-GMO seeds and uses strictly sustainable farming practices, like natural compost rotation. Immediately after popping, and while the fluffy kernels are still warm, 479 drizzles genuine truffle oil over the popcorn and tosses it with organic, aged white cheddar cheese. Jean Arnold, 479 Popcorn's founder, believes they use best aged white cheddar on the market; she tasted more than 20 different varieties before selecting it.
