A Great Date

Napa Valley-based La Saison's date wheel celebrates Medjool dates, treasured for their size, sweetness and soft, chewy texture. The Medjool date was brought to America from Morocco in 1927 by horticulturist Walter Swingle who brought 11 offshoots from the nearly extinct Medjool crop; out of those 11, nine survived and became the source for Medjool dates harvested today. La Saison balances out the dates' sweetness with a little kick of cracked pepper.
