This estate Valpolicella combines gorgeous ripe fruit with the surprising minerality and elegance rarely found in this region. This is what separates and elevates Corte Sant'Alda.

Named grower of the year in 2009 by Gambero Rosso, Italy’s most prestigious wine-judging group, Marinella Camerani has carved a path in a male-dominated industry, relying on biodynamic methods and hands-on technique. Her modern sensibilities have helped her, too: To craft this Valpolicella, Marinella jettisoned the traditional ripasso method (the source of Amarone’s “raisin-y” quality) to create a dry style. The resulting wine has a firm ripe core of silky tannins, raspberries and smoke, with a long, lingering finish.
Varietals: 40% Corvina, 30% Corvina Grossa, 20% Rondinella, 10% Molinara
Nose: Dark fruit, wild mint, vanilla
Palate: Loaded with fruit and velvety tannins
