Bollinger has been 007’s on-screen bubbly of choice for almost 40 years, and this special edition 2002 La Grand Année Brut Champagne is the “most exceptional vintage of the last decade,” according to cellar master Mathieu Kauffmann. This limited-edition package is modeled after James Bond’s famous Walther PPK silencer, and requires a special combination of digits (007, naturally) to unlock the beautiful emerald bottle inside.
Characteristics: Riddled by hand, with a lemon-golden hue, a minerally character, and a bouquet of sweet apple, citrus and thyme, this is a stunning Champagne from a stunning producer. Stony and creamy in equal measures, the palate is full of sherbet and fruit, balanced by a firm acidity. Incredibly richly textured, with an expansive feel on the palate, this bubbly nonetheless dissolves into lingering, clean finish.
