With its flowery note, hint of rose, impressive structure and balanced aroma—not to mention that lovely just-dry flavor—it has been awarded 90 points by Wine Spectator, and 91 by Wine & Spirits, who awarded it a “Year’s Best” accolade.
Les Cretes Chardonnay 2010 This Italian producer perched in the Alps at the base of Mont Blanc has achieved cult status for its Chardonnay, which is pure and fresh, rich in flavor, with mouthwatering acidity and a lingering finish that earned it 92 points from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate.
Nicolas Joly Clos de la Bergerie 2009 Only 3000 bottles of this deep golden Loire Valley Chenin Blanc were made, and it is our absolute favorite in the world. This producer has revitalized the varietal, using biodynamic methods that have instructed other vintners worldwide. It, too, earned a “Year’s Best” from Wine & Spirits, who awarded it 90 points.
