Why to buy: An exclusive blend of about 20 grands and premiers crus this is the House’s 64th vintage. This is one of our favorite champagnes; it’s fresh, food-loving and has incredible aging potential.
Nose and palate: The bouquet opens with peach, citrus and a hint of minerals that comes from the chalky soils of Reims. As the wine opens, lilac and fresh butter gradually take over. The palate is clean and generously fresh with nice body.
The backstory: Veuve Clicquot, one of the world’s most beloved and celebrated champagne houses, was founded in 1772. Their Cellar Masters—there have only been 10 in the estate’s 240 year history—are committed to perfecting Veuve Clicquot’s signature style that harmonizes Pinot Noir’s strength with Chardonnay’s elegance.
This company was long run by Madame Clicquot, who took over the business at age 27 when her husband suddenly passed away. She was a pioneer in the champagne industry—releasing the first vintage champagne ever and inventing the riddling table—and her legacy is an inspiration to both women and men in today’s industry.

Dominique Demarville, Veuve Clicquot's 10th Cellar Master, earned degrees in viticulture and oenology at Lycée Vitivole de la Champagne and the University of Burgundy. A firm believer in Champagne’s inherent elegance and complexity, he utilizes the diversity of terroir to create beautiful blends that reflect the house’s signature style.
