A chocolate-lover's spin on the classic French pastry, canelés are catching on as an all-grown-up cupcake. Born in Bordeaux, the canelé is famous for its thick caramelized crust that hides a soft, custard center. They’re sweet but not too sweet, so we love these single-serving delights for breakfast with a pot of hot coffee, as a compliment to afternoon tea, or as dessert with a towering glass of chiled Champagne.
What's included:
- 24 frozen canelé
- We think canelés are best enjoyed warm, but you can also serve them at room temperature. To serve, thaw canelés in refrigerator for 2 hour, and if you wish, preheat oven to 350ºF. Place thawed canelés on a baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and let stand for several minutes before serving.
