Made with local, free-range eggs, homemade butter, Maine spring water and Maine sea salt, Cranberry Island’s whoopie pies beat out Bobby’s on a Food Network Throwdown. Every month (for less than $40 a month) you’ll get 12 soft and cakey whoopie pies, flavored and shaped to reflect the season.

Your monthly shipment will go out the second Wednesday of every month.

One foggy summer kept Karen Haase and Carol Ford away from their usual bike rides and beach walks on Little Cranberry Island and pushed them into the kitchen. After spending days baking together, the two friends dreamed up a business dedicated to desserts inspired by the little island.

Recipient will receive notice of subscription enrollment and monthly shipments of 12 handmade whoopie pies. All assortments will ship the second Wednesday of each month. For orders placed before the 21st of the month, whoopie pies will ship on the second Wednesday of the next month. Orders placed after the 21st, will ship in two months. Why We Love It

Cranberry Island Kitchen only uses butter from Kate’s Homemade Butter churned by the Patry family in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. They believe the butter is one of the reasons why their whoopie pies are the “best on the planet.”

Although enjoyed in every state of the union, it is unclear where the original whoopie pie was born; Pennsylvania and Maine have tussled over ownership of this dessert for years. This past April, Mainers made whoopie pies their official state treat after tracing its roots to a Bangor, Maine woman who melded leftover bits of cake into a frosted sandwich.
