Nose, palate and pairing: Tropical fruit and minerals on the nose and ripe fruit on the palate, this wine has balance and depth. It’s food-friendly, especially with fish like trout or salmon and oysters.
Backstory: Ales Kristancic leads Movia with traditional approaches in winemaking with a handful of modern twists; some of his whites, for example, are aged in Slavonian oak casks or barriques and left on the lees without stirring for more than two years. Fining and filtering procedures are governed by the atmospheric pressure incurred by the new moon. His philosophy is not quite traditional and not quite purely natural, but rather a reflection of the techniques acquired and refined over two centuries of winemaking at Movia.
