Here's what you get:
- One 13" wide, Japanese-made iron wok
In 1978, Saori Kawano, Korin’s founder and president, moved to New York from Japan with hopes of introducing Japanese knives and tableware into American culinary culture. For the last 25 years, Korin Japanese Trading has been an industry leader in the import and distribution of Japanese wares.
Once your order is processed, your wok will be ground shipped to you.
More than Just Stir Fry
Though woks are primarily associated with fast, high-heat stir-frying, these durable concave pans are one of the most versatile tools in the kitchen. A small, woven bamboo basket turns it into an effective steamer for shrimp dumplings or halibut fixed with ginger and chilies. Or line the bottom of the wok with foil packed with soaked cherry- or applewood chips, insert a round rack and—voila!—a simple smoker ideal for city living. We love using this wok for deep-frying, too. The ironclad body heats oil evenly, while the deep sides minimize splatter—perfect for frying up everything from ethereal veggie tempura to miniature donuts.
