The former Eleven Madison Park pastry cook whipped up this moist buttermilk banana cake frosted with salted caramel topping. The cake is moist, the frosting is salty-sweet, and packed into a jar, it’s a dreamy single-serving dessert—or fit for two, depending on the size you pick. The whole shebang is handmade by a banana addict who thinks all desserts would be better with a bit of banana. She ties reusable jars with red-and-white baker’s twine and packages them in a four-jar box with a handle, making this a great gift.
