Riesling thrives in Washington, and particularly at the Lewis Estate Vineyard, where the microclimate and loamy soils are notorious for keeping yields low, producing berries with a maximum of flavor and acidity. Harvested late, after the berries shrink and the flavors concentrate, this wine becomes resplendent with the fragrance of baked apricots and almonds. On the palate, a persistent acidity brightens its rich, supple texture.
