Zinfandel dates back to the mid 19th century in California and at one point it was the most widespread varietal in the state. Over time it became less popular and today only makes up 10% of plantings. These old vines may have been forgotten by many in the last few decades, but DeLoach continues to honor this varietal by blending grapes from several exemplary vineyards in the region.

Cecil DeLoach pioneered Pinot Noir wine growing in the Russian River Valley in 1973. In 2003, Burgundy’s Boisset Family purchased DeLoach Vineyards, recognizing the similarities between Sonoma County and Burgundy. The Boisset Family is dedicated to biodynamic, organic and sustainable winemaking.
