Sometimes you just want an old-fashioned, well-made cookie. With a little crunch and nothing too sweet, Amy’s small-batch sampler works for a group with varied palates. The apricot and raspberry colored cookies whimsically remind us of a game board. The other cookies range from a play on the classic Oreo (the AmyO!) made with Valrhona chocolate shortbread to a chewy ginger snap that’s great for kids since it’s not too spicy. When Amy Berg learned that she had a degenerative retinal disease, this aspiring photographer soon realized that her vision was fading. So, she refocused and combined her love for well-crafted, artistic images with delicious baked goods. Amy’s creations are now found at specialty stores in-and-around Manhattan.

Since Amy Berg majored in photography at the Pratt Institute in the late-80s, she’s always appreciated beautiful creations. By combining her love for baking with the finest ingredients, Amy’s Cookies blossomed from a small company into a burgeoning business. Although she once baked everything herself, she’s now learned how to delegate to her talented pastry team. They still follow Amy’s meticulous technique and decorate each cookie by hand.
